NJ residents cope with rising temperatures

The mercury soared today as the heat index topped 100 degrees in parts of the state.

News 12 New Jersey caught up with Enrique Ruiz, who sells roasted peanuts on Broad Street in Newark. Ruiz was having a tough time making a sale as the heat rose from the pavement.

At Roosevelt Park in Edison, residents tried to cope with the rising heat as temperatures reached the 90s.
