Nothing found in new NY serial killer probe search
Investigators say nothing was found intheir latest search for possible remains on a barrier island southof New York's Long Island.
Police returned to the area on Tuesday, but only searched forabout three hours before declaring they had turned up no newevidence.
State police say officers searched 11 specific locations nearthe Robert Moses Causeway on Tuesday. The highway is north of OceanParkway, where 10 sets of human remains have been discovered sinceDecember.
The latest search was prompted by FBI aerial surveillancephotography of the area.
Police believe a serial killer may be responsible for the deathsof at least four prostitutes found in the area. Authorities suspectothers also may have also left bodies along the remote parkway,going back at least a decade.
