Abandoned puppies rescued from Paterson home

Several puppies, their mother and six other adult dogs were rescued Monday from an abandoned home on East 22nd Street in Paterson.Paterson Animal Control, which saved the animals, says the house was very hot inside, and the dogs were without food or water."If those dogs would have been left inside that house, with the sun beating on top of that roof at 100 degrees, could you imagine how hot it's going to be inside?" says John DeCando, of Paterson Animal Control.Police are working to track down the dogs' owner. That person will face animal cruelty charges and fines of up to $1,000 per dog, as well as time behind bars, if convicted. The rescued puppies and the other dogs will eventually go up for adoption.START II Animal Rescue - 201-797-8861
