DYFS under fire after girl dies

DYFS is being questioned following the death of 8-year-old Christiana Glenn. Glenn's family was investigated several times after complaints of abuse.

The department of children and families had been to the home of the 8-year-old girl four times, and concluded each time that Venette Ovilde was not abusing her children despite complaints made about the family.

Cecelia Zalkind of Advocates for New Jersey Children, a watchdog group, is demanding DYFS release how it decided the children were safe. The last complaint was investigated in 2008. Glenn died in Irvington of malnutrition and an untreated broken leg.
