Report can't find cause of Wildwood Ferris wheel fall

(AP) - Investigators say they don't know whatcaused an 11-year-old girl's deadly fall from a Ferris wheel on anamusement pier at the New Jersey shore.

The state Department of Community Affairs released a preliminaryincident report Monday. It found no mechanical defects.

Abiah Jones was alone in a gondola of the GiantWheel at Morey's Piers in Wildwood on June 3 when she plunged 100feet.

The report says a video camera captured part of thePleasantville girl's fall but not the moment she fell.

The department says it's recommending operators require aminimum of two riders per gondola in the future.

Morey's Piers spokeswoman Lindsey Young tells The Press ofAtlantic City the company is reviewing the report. A date to reopen the ride hasn't been determined.
