Clifton police looking for violent robber

Police in Clifton are looking for a violent robber who was caught on camera at Kathy's Grocery on Ackerman Avenue Friday morning.

The victim, Luis Garcia, 49, says he went to the ATM inside the store to take out $60 at around 7 a.m. and spoke about sports with the man who was about to rob him. Garcia says he had no idea he was about to be jumped.

Garcia says after he got his money from the machine and tried to pay at the store's counter, the man grabbed the cash. Garcia says he then blocked the man from getting out the door, but the robber was able to get away.

Garcia says he was able to hold on to some of his money including half of a $20 bill, and made it out with only small scrapes and bruises.

The robber is described as a teenaged Hispanic male, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds with a thin beard.
