Poll: Big gender gap drops Christie approval

A new poll out today finds Gov. ChrisChristie's disapproval from women has driven his approval rating slightly negative.

Overall, 44 percent of voters approve of the way the governor is doing his job, while 47 percent disapprove.

But women disapprove by a much larger margin, 54-36 percent. Men like the job the governor is doing by a 53-39 percent margin.

Voters disapprove 55 - 41 percent of the way Christie is handling education and are split 47 - 48 percent on his handling of the state budget.

Poll director Maurice Carroll says Christie's problem with women may be because they care more about schools. Women disapprove of the way Christie is handling education by 60-34 percent.
