Marlboro to introduce paid full-day kindergarten

The Marlboro Early Learning Center is pushing for longer kindergarten hours. Residents believe that extended hours will be a plus educationally as well as for working parents in need of an extended school day.

Interested parents must fill out an application and will be entered into a lottery for 100 spots. The school day will include the half-day program, plus four additional hours for lunch, enrichment and recess.

The cost is not covered by tax dollars and the tuition is $4,000. School Board Vice President Victoria Dean calls it a win-win for students and the district.
