KIYC: Ethics charges being drawn up against NJ lawmaker

A legislative committee voted to prepare ethics charges against Assemblyman Scott Rumana (R-N.J.) for his alleged role in a controversial energy deal.

The deal was first exposed as a part of a Kane in Your Corner investigation last summer.

Rumana says he was only trying to help people in Wayne save money on their electric bills when he made a deal with a company called Wayne Energy. However, Kane in Your Corner discovered that Rumana never mentioned that he was the chairman of Wayne Energy in his state election filings, in addition to being the former mayor of Wayne.
