A look at cruises from Liberty Island
Sunset Cruises are available to Liberty Island. The island is run by the National Park Service, but the land that the statue is on is in New York. The surrounding water and the walls are all a part of New Jersey.
David Luchsinger, The Island Superintendent for the National Park Service, says 16,000 people visit the Statue of Liberty during the day. While thousands are teeming over the island during the hot summer day, there are only 500 people on the island at night.
Luchsinger tells News 12 New Jersey that he always says "New Jersey has our back."
Tickets are $45 for ages 12 to adult, $22.50 for kids and $32 for seniors.
