Passaic County man charged with robbing, killing grandmother

Police say they discovered the body of 85-year-old Barbara Tysbir, of Clifton, in her basement Friday morning.

Police believe the killer is Tysbir's grandson, 24-year-old Mark Dubas, of Wayne. Authorities say they received calls about a suspicious man going door-to-door asking for water on Maplewood Avenue in Clifton.

Two Clifton officers responded and found Dubas in his grandmother's 1994 Saturn. Police say they found cocaine and heroin in the car and placed Dubas under arrest. Police also found jewelry in Dubas' possession. Authorities say that other evidence has been collected and is being processed. They say they believe the evidence ties Dubas to the homicide.
