Police: Barber beaten in Bloomingdale has died

Police say that a Bloomingdale barber found badly beaten in his shop on Friday has died as a result of his injuries.

Authorities say 79-year-old Frank Halat, owner of Frank's Barbershop on Main Street, was found inside his store. Officials say they are still searching for answers and that there were no security cameras.

Halat's daughter, Cindy Horwath, says that it was always her father's dream to own a barbershop and that even when he worked for a bus company, he always cut hair too. The Korean War veteran leaves behind his wife, their four adult children, 9 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Officials are urging anyone with information to contact them. Bloomingdale Police Chief Joseph Borell says even seemingly little things might develop into helpful leads.
