3 NJ Turnpike toll collectors accused of theft

Three New Jersey Turnpike toll collectors are accused of pocketing thousands of dollars in a ticket-swapping scheme.

The three are accused of pocketing the difference after substituting toll tickets collected between Interchanges 3 and 5 from motorists in south Jersey.

Turnpike officials believe the scheme netted $10,000 this year.

Veteran toll collectors William Fagan, of Clementon, Glenn Huryan, of Magnolia, and John Filippine, of Mansfield Township, have been suspended and released on their own recognizance.

Officials say an audit uncovered the scheme last month.
