Gas prices continue to climb across the state

Drivers attempting to pinch their pennies are filling up at rest stops on the Turnpike and Parkway tonight before the gas stations along New Jersey's main arteries raise their prices.

News 12 New Jersey visited the Thomas Edison rest area near Exit 11 along the New Jersey Turnpike. Gas attendants weren't ever idle for long, as prices are expected to climb from $3.43 to $3.54 a gallon overnight.

Global uncertainty and the production of summer blends are getting the blame for the latest jump in gas prices. AAA Mid-Atlantic says a gallon of regular rose an average of 12 cents this past week, reaching an average of $3.52 a gallon nationwide.
