Police in Butler introduce 'The Howler'

Butler police are introducing a siren called "The Howler," which gives off vibrations and sound to alert even the most distracted driver.

Police Chief Edward Card says his officers have seen too many people ignoring sirens while crossing streets, listening to headphones, talking on cell phones or blasting car stereos. So, he says the department decided to do something, before someone gets hurt.

"The Howler" costs $600 per car to install. The town paid to install it in all 11 police vehicles. Union City police are also using the siren in their patrol cars.
