Bear freed from tree at NJ Turnpike exit

(AP) - Officials have removed a black bearthat climbed a tree at a New Jersey Turnpike exit.

TV footage showed a firefighter and state officials fist-pump asthey finished wrestling the tranquilized bruin into a firedepartment's ladder truck.

State Police Sgt. Stephen Jones says the bruin was first spottedon the shoulder of the toll road at 8:12 a.m. Friday.

The incident slowed southbound traffic near Interchange 8 inEast Windsor.
