Titanic expert speaks on 99th anniversary of the ship's sinking

The Titanic, a ship famous for a disaster of epic proportions sank 99 years ago today.

News 12 New Jersey spoke with one of the world's leading experts on the ship's passengers, Bob Bracken.

Bracken has spent the past 20 years, researching Titanic's passengers, as a member of The Titanic International Society in Midland Park.

He's found many with New Jersey ties. He says "A lot of them were residents of New Jersey. A lot of them were immigrating to New Jersey."

Bracken says the 100th anniversary of Titanic's sinking will be commemorated next year with a cruise re-tracing the ship's route. But he confesses, he's afraid to make the trip.
