Repair work to resume along Route 35

Repair work along Route 35 will once again kick into gear Tuesday.
Construction was halted and equipment was tucked away behind fencing along Route 35 for the past three months so it would not inconvenience summer vacationers.
One southbound lane and the shoulder will be closed along the stretch of Route 35 through Lavallette, Toms River, and Brick.
Drainage, curbs and ramps must be repaired.
The work is part of a $300 million project that started two years ago to clean up the damage wrought by Superstorm Sandy.
As part of the new drainage system, the DOT says there are nine pump stations and treatment facilities to clean storm water before it's sent into the Barnegat Bay.
