4-alarm fire breaks out in Paterson

A building in Paterson's historic district was damaged when a fire broke out Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to 14 Van Houten St. at around 2 p.m. for reports of a fire. The multi-story brick building sits along the Passaic River, close to the Paterson Great Falls.
The fire quickly reached four alarms. Dozens of firefighters responded to the scene to put out the fire.
The blaze was brought under control a short time later. No injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
