Rally held for man who was shot by police

Posted: Updated:

The family of a man who was shot and killed by police in Lyndhurst is calling for justice.

A rally was held Saturday to support the family of Kevin Allen. Allen was shot and killed by Lyndhurst police at the Lyndhurst Public Library on May 29.

Police say that Allen had resisted arrest, struggled and had shown a knife to officers.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office says that Allen's case will go to a grand jury in accordance with guidelines from the attorney general, but would not comment on the case beyond that.
