Police identify livery cab driver killed in Newark

A livery cab driver working for Classic Taxi was shot and killed in Newark Friday night, officials say.



Police have identified the driver as 45-year-old Rodrigo Berru.



Officials say that Berru was shot at around 9:45 p.m. when he went to pick up a fare along Frelinghuysen Avenue.



The fatal shooting marks the sixth homicide in Newark since Wednesday. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office says it's the 59th homicide in Newark this year.



No arrests have been made so far.
