2 lanes on road leading to Lincoln Tunnel closed for repairs

Motorists heading into New York City by way of the Lincoln Tunnel should expect delays.

The New Jersey Transportation Department closed the two right lanes on the Route 495 east bridge in North Bergen for emergency repairs Wednesday afternoon. The road feeds into the Lincoln Tunnel.

Crews are repairing a damaged bridge deck joint.

The DOT says the work will likely cause congestion throughout Wednesday and will most likely impact Thursday morning's commute.

Motorists heading into New York City are advised to use alternate routes.
