Expert: Christie held his own during debate

The day after the first Republication presidential candidate debate has many New Jersey residents discussing how Gov. Chris Christie did.
During Thursday night's debate, Christie got into a heated exchange with Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul over national security.
Christie emphasized his experience as governor of New Jersey and tried to appeal to the GOP's conservative base.
Matt Hale of Seton Hall University believes the governor did well during the debate.
"He didn't have to talk about things he didn't want to," says Hale. "He didn't have to talk about Bridge-Gate. He didn't have to talk about Sandy being a disaster in recovery."
Ten candidates participated in the debate that aired on Fox News.
The next Republican debate will be held Sept. 16 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California.
