Clothing giveaway helps kids get set for school
Hundreds of kids from Newark and surrounding areas are gearing up for the upcoming school year by picking out clothing, coats and more.
The National Council of Jewish Women's Essex County section held its "Back 2 School" store Sunday at the West Orange Community Center.
The council consists of 435 volunteers who will be helping almost 1,000 children from across Essex County shop for clothes.
The children shopped with their own "personal shopper" to help them choose items like hats, gloves and winter coats.
This year marks the seventh "Back 2 School" shopping event. All of the items available to children were purchased by a committee of 34 women.
