The Essex County Prosecutor's Office says a man was shot dead in Newark's South Ward earlier this week.
The shooting occurred on Clinton Place just after 5 p.m. Thursday. Prosecutors identified the victim as Qushawn Chaney, of Newark.
The 33-year-old was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead.
There is no word on a possible suspect at this time.
