July 14 marks National Nude Day and many New Jerseyans celebrated at Gunnison Beach in Sandy Hook. It is New Jersey's only official nude beach.
According to Foursquare, Gunnison Beach ranks No. 3 on the list of the nation's best nude beaches.
Some visitors say being nude is the best way to experience the beach.
"Nothing feels better than swimming nude," says Tommy Mahoney of Denville. "Nothing feels worse than hanging on the beach in a soggy bathing suit."
Park workers say on sunny, hot days the crowds at Gunnison Beach can easily top 1,000.
