A mother and her daughter drowned while kayaking Friday night on the Delaware River.

The incident happened at around 8:15 p.m. near Bulls Island State Park.

According to Hunterdon County prosecutors, 45-year-old Doris Rake and her 19-year-old daughter Katheryn, of Raritan Township, were not wearing personal flotation devices at the time of the incident.
