NJ Transit, PATH offer extra service for soccer parade

Extra trains and buses are available for fans going to New York City's parade for the women's World Cup soccer champions.

The Port Authority says additional PATH service will operate Friday during midday hours on the Newark to World Trade Center line for the parade, which is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

All other PATH lines will operate on normal schedules.

New Jersey Transit is providing additional buses during regularly scheduled midday service on 15 routes.

Midday rail service will not change, but NJ Transit plans to add additional cars on some trains.

Passengers are urged to purchase roundtrip tickets at the start of the trip and allow extra time.
