FBI seeks victims in 'sextortion' child porn case

The FBI is trying to identify more victims of a convicted child sexual predator.

Lucas Michael Chansler is serving 105 years in federal prison for child pornography crimes. He pleaded guilty in 2014 to nine counts of producing child pornography.

According to the FBI, Chansler used social media to trick girls into exposing themselves on webcams. He then apparently blackmailed the girls, telling them he would release the videos online or tell their parents if they did not continue to expose themselves. He supposedly had approximately 80,000 images and videos in his possession.

When chatting with the girls, Chansler supposedly used dozens of aliases on a variety of social media platforms, including MySpace, AOL Instant Messenger and Stickam.

Authorities estimate Chansler had at least 350 victims in 26 states, including several in New Jersey. The FBI is looking for more victims to further their case against Chansler.

Anyone who thinks they may have been a victim is urged to fill out the FBI questionnaire on the bureau's website.
