Weather: Cooler tonight, rain possible Saturday

The Fourth of July weekend has kicked off in New Jersey, but the weather may not hold out.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Michele Powers says there is a chance for light rain Saturday for the Fourth of July.

Friday in the Garden State saw seasonable temperatures of around 80 degrees inland with slightly cooler temperatures at the shore. Clouds could develop Friday night with temperatures cooling to the mid-60s.

Saturday could see some more cloud coverage with scattered periods of light rain. Temperatures are expected in the low- to mid-70s.

Sunday is expected to remain mostly sunny with temperatures possible reaching the mid-80s.
