Englewood Cliffs mayor wants every home to have a flag

The mayor of Englewood Cliffs says he wants to see every home in the borough adorned with an American flag in honor of the Fourth of July.
In order to make that dream a reality, Mayor Joseph Parisi Jr. even bought some flags with his own money to give to residents. Two-hundred flags are available for pick up at borough hall for anyone who needs one.
"I know today it sounds corny, but to me, this is not just a piece of cloth. This is a symbol of what people have done," Mayor Parisi says. "Countless people have died for America and our independence and everything associated with our great country. We always hear the bad stuff. It's time for the good stuff."
The mayor says he would like to see all the flags flying through Sept. 11.
