Gov. Christie holds town hall in New Hampshire
Gov. Chris Christie was already on the campaign trail hours after launching his 2016 campaign for president.
Gov. Christie made the announcement he was running in the gymnasium of his alma mater, Livingston High School. Under the campaign slogan "Telling it like it is," the governor said voters are "going to get what I think whether you like it or not, or whether it makes you cringe every once in a while or not."
Soon after the announcement, Gov. Christie hit the road to head to New Hampshire, where he will hold a series of town hall meetings to address potential voters.
His first stop was in town of Sadown. At the event, the governor brought up a series of topics, including gun control, border security, finances, health care and education.
"We've got to change our education system in the country. Out of the industrialized nations in the world, we are 27th in science and 24th in math," Christie says. "You cannot be 27th in science and 24th in math and think that you going to remain the No. 1 economic power in the world, or the No. 1 military power in the world."
Gov. Christie will remain in New Hampshire through the Fourth of July holiday. He has several other town hall events planned.
