State police: Man charged in hit-and-run boating accident
New Jersey state police are looking for a possible witness to a hit-and-run boating accident that injured five people on Lake Mohawk in Sparta Township over the weekend.
Alex Majors, 21, was arrested Monday after police say he allegedly fled the scene of the June 14 accident. Police say Majors was operating an 18-foot boat when he struck a pontoon boat and left the accident. Five people who were on the pontoon were injured.
Members of the Sparta Police Department found Major's boat at the Lake Mohawk Country Club. The boat supposedly had damage that was consistent with the crash investigation. He now faces several charges related to the accident.
Multiple witnesses reported seeing another person with Majors during the accident. They described him as a young adult, white male. Anyone who may be able to identify the individual is asked to contact the State Police Sussex Station at 973-383-1514.
