Triple Crown winner American Pharoah's next race could be in New Jersey.
American Pharoah's owner, Ahmed Zayat told MSNBC that the horse is next expected to race at the Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park. That race is scheduled for August.
The prized horse made history this past Saturday by winning the first Triple Crown in 37 years. Zayat, who is from Teaneck, sold the breeding rights to American Pharoah to a place in Kentucky, but would not disclose the terms.
Another horse owned by Zayat, Paynter, won the Haskell Invitational three years ago.
American Pharoah's trainer, Bob Baffert, has won four out of the last five Haskell Invitational events.
