Woman arrested after 8-hour standoff with police

A Woodbridge woman has been arrested after she allegedly got into an eight-hour standoff with police.
Police say two Middlesex County sheriff's officers came to Noreen Ziobrio's home on Pennington Avenue in the Colonia section of town just before noon on Friday to serve her an eviction notice. She told officers she was not going to leave and allegedly pointed a weapon at them.
The officers pulled back and called in a large police response, including the area SWAT team. A negotiator tried to talk to her, but she did not respond, according to police.
The incident closed down the area around the home for hours while police tried to talk her down.
After several unsuccessful hours of negotiation, SWAT officers broke the second floor windows of Ziobro's home and threw grenades inside to subdue her. She did not resist and was taken into custody.
Charges are now pending against Zibrio. She was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital for evaluation. No police officers were injured during the incident.
