Heavy rains cause treacherous conditions on roads

Heavy rains across New Jersey caused treacherous conditions on the roads.

In Fair Lawn, tents at a street fair were flooded out.

Flash flooding in Newark also closed roadways and stranded cars.

Frelinghuysen Avenue in Newark was shut down by police due to flooding. Three cars near the Route 78 underpass were stranded in water that was about 3 feet deep.

There were similar flooding situations in parts of Union, Passaic, Essex, Monmouth and Middlesex counties.
