Bergen Co. limits lawn watering in some towns amid drought
Beginning Monday, several Bergen County towns will be on a water usage restriction due to a drought.
Effective June 1, residents in Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Midland Park and Wyckoff will only be allowed to use sprinklers three days a week on designated days, depending on their house number.
Homeowners with addresses ending in odd numbers will be allowed to use sprinklers on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Homeowners with addresses ending in even numbers will be allowed to use sprinklers on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
No watering with sprinklers will be allowed on Mondays.
The restrictions only apply to sprinklers. Garden hoses can be used any day of the week. There also isn't a limit to how much water a person can use, but officials say residents should try not to over-water their lawns.
