Brush fire near Great Adventure burns dozens of acres

Firefighters responded to the scene of a large brush fire that broke out near Great Adventure in Jackson Monday afternoon.
The first started at around 4 p.m. near Reed Road in the Colliers Mills Wildlife Management area. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service sent two air tankers to help put out the blaze. Crews are also using bulldozers and setting backfires to stop the fire from spreading.
The fire has burned at least 23 acres of land, but firefighters have a lot of it contained. Great Adventure officials say the fire is of no threat to the guests. No one has been injured, according to fire officials.
Fire crews are expected to remain on scene overnight to monitor the fire.
