18 NJ veterans honored with medals

The Rochelle Park American Legion Post held a special ceremony Tuesday to honor 18 of the state's veterans. The veterans received the NJ Distinguished Service Medal, New Jersey's highest military award.

18 NJ veterans honored with medals
The Rochelle Park American Legion Post held a special ceremony Tuesday to honor 18 of the state's veterans.
The veterans received the NJ Distinguished Service Medal, New Jersey's highest military award. 
To be eligible for the award, a veteran must be a New Jersey resident who was honorably discharged and served in combat during wartime.
Eight of the honored veterans reside at the Veterans Memorial Home in Paramus.
