Hostage situation turns out to be prank

What was initially reported as a hostage in Clifton Saturday evening turned out to be a prank.

The incident happened at the Digital Press Game Store along Route 46. Police say they got a call and responded to the scene en masse.

Patrons of the store say that when they saw the police presence outside, they figured there was a robbery in the area. Eventually, police went inside and wanted to know what was going on.

Everyone in the store was ordered outside, handcuffed and frisked.

Police now seek the person responsible for making the call, and will look to prosecute if they can.
