Plainfield demolition error forces restaurant to evacuate

A business in Plainfield was forced to close after a routine demolition threaten to bring its building down.

Staff at El Nino de Oro restaurant on North Avenue were told they had just minutes to leave when pieces of a nearby vacant building being demolished started collapsing onto the restaurant's roof.

The business was then closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday to clean up all the debris that filled the floor and walls.

No one was injured.
