Plans for AC's former Showboat casino stall

Plans to transform the former Showboat casino into a college campus have stalled.

As News 12 previously reported, Stockton University bought the property for $18 million in December and planned to turn the site into a satellite campus.

The casino's former owner, Caesars Entertainment, and neighboring casino Trump Taj Majal had signed an agreement dating back to 1988, which required the Showboat property be used as a first-class casino resort.

Stockton University says it is trying to work out a deal with Trump Taj Majal.
