Parents are upset after a young child came to school with an illegal substance in Elizabeth.
According to authorities, a teacher found the substance inside the pocket of a boy at the Leaguers school on East Broad Street at around 11 a.m. Thursday. The school serves children ages 3 and 4.
Other children were present, and the school has given other parents the option to have their children tested, but officials say no other drugs were found in the school and that the children were OK. Classes continued.
Many parents say they didn't learn about the incident until they came to pick their children up from school, at which time they were given letters about the incident.
Police have not commented on how the drug got into the boy's pocket or the exact drug that was found.
