2 employees injured in explosion at Picatinny Arsenal

Two civilian U.S. Army employees were injured in an explosion at a military facility in Morris County, officials said in a statement.
The incident happened at around 11 a.m. Wednesday at Picatinny Arsenal.
The employees are explosives technicians who were conducting research on a submunition, which is part of a larger explosive device.
One of the employees was taken to a hospital via helicopter and the other was transported by ambulance. Both sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the statement.
The incident remains under investigation and all explosives-related operations have been suspended.
Picatinny Arsenal is a research facility that specializes in the development of weapons and ammunition. It is located on nearly 6,500 acres in Morris County.
