2 NJ men arrested in series of smash-and-grab burglaries

Two men are behind bars tonight and could face more charges in connection with a series of smash-and-grab burglaries around the state.

Matawan police arrested Kareem Gary of Elizabeth and Herman Rozier of Linden.

Detectives had been following the pair since they say the men burglarized a Wine Nation store July 25.

The men allegedly attempted another burglary yesterday at a business on Highway 34.

They were arrested on Highway 35 a short time later.

Police issued a statewide alert to see if Gary and Rozier can be connected to similar burglaries around the state.
