Rip current warnings issued along Jersey Shore

A warning is in place this weekend along the Jersey Shore for long-lasting rip currents.

The National Weather Service says strong rip currents are possible through Saturday.

Beach-goers are urged to swim only where lifeguards are on duty.

The National Weather Service offers the following tips for dealing with rip currents:

*Don't fight the current.*Swim out of the current, then to shore. *If you can't escape, float or tread water. *If you need help, call or wave for assistance.
