Displaced dogs from Louisiana hope to find homes in NJ
A group of 35 dogs rushed out of New Orleans just before Hurricane Isaac hit are hoping to find loving homes in New Jersey.
The animals are currently housed at Saint Huberts Animal Welfare Center in North Branch, and another facility in Madison.
The dogs were rushed out of New Orleans by the Louisiana SPCA just before the storm hit, making room to care for even more displaced local animals.
The shelter is open seven days a week, including Labor Day.
Workers there hope to find homes for most, if not all of the new arrivals from Louisiana in the next couple of weeks.
