Fiancee of slain Lakewood officer sits down with News 12

The fiancée of the Lakewood police officer killed execution-style in the line of duty almost one year ago tells News 12 New Jersey's Karla Bardinas that the last year "has absolutely been the worst year that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy."
Kelly Walsifer and officer Christopher Matlosz were supposed to get married this April. She says counseling and burying herself in work has helped her get through the days.
Walsifer, 25, moved out of the house she shared with Matlosz, 27, in Manchester and got a place in a nearby Ocean County community. She says there were just too many painful memories in their old home.
She finds comfort from the couple's two dogs and has gotten close to his brother, Adam Matlosz. Adam says, "To tell you the truth, I really don't believe it. It feels like all of this happened yesterday."
A memorial service and candlelight vigil are scheduled in Lakewood on Saturday, the anniversary of his death. Jury selection for the trial of his accused killer is scheduled to begin Jan. 17 at the Ocean County Superior Court in Toms River.
