New type of prom formal wear in Omaha, Nebraska made of condoms to get teens talking about safe sex

A new type of prom formal wear is designed to get teens talking about safe sex.

The outfits are made out of condoms and are being placed in barbershops and dress boutiques around Omaha, Nebraska.

This comes in addition to the 120 businesses that will be giving out free condoms.

Organizers hope it will lower the county's numbers of teenage pregnancies and STD rates.

Since 2001, Douglas County has seen high numbers of chlamydia in teenagers.

According to the CDC, many cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis go undiagnosed and unreported.
