Police in Irvington looking for man sexually assaulting women for past two months

Police in Irvington have a sketch of a suspect after a rash of sexual assaults in the town.

According to investigators, all of the recent attacks took place between January and March of this year.

The attacks happened along the Newark and Irvington border, near the intersection of Grove Street and Nye Avenue, at various hours of the day and night. All the victims were threatened with a handgun.

Police say the women were all attacked between the hours of 3 p.m. and 3 a.m.

Officers are warning anyone walking in the area to stay vigilant and notify police of any issues immediately.

"We have our officers in the area with the crime scene sketch talking to residents in the area," says Detective Jerry Ramos. "Hopefully, we can identify him and get this solved as quickly as possible."

The suspect is described as a black male, between 5'4"-5'8" in height, approximately 35 years of age, with a dark complexion.

He is described as having a mustache and appears unshaven.
